3D crownsettings

Different kinds of crown settings that we have been working on during 3Dclass

Changing it up

It's been a long time.

I have noticed I am seriously neglecting the blog again.

It's time for a change.

From now on I'll try my best to update and I'm thinking that it will be a lot easier if I don't write anymore. This means the blog is going to be a picture blog from now on. I'll show my work and maybe even some "makeing of" pictures and leave it with a headline saying what it is or when it is.

Let's see how this works out.

Now I will though point out that I have entered a 'young jewelrydesigner of the year'-contest and here are the works I sent in yesterday.

And here are some other things I'm working on right now:

That's it for today, so byebye.

Halloween and circus!

So this weekend I celebrated Halloween with my friends. Here's the only pick that I've got my hands on so far, that I dare post.

On Sunday I was unsurprisingly feeling tired and horrible overall. I’d cut the earlier night short because I guess I’m loosing my party stamina as I get older.

Well while in this slump I remembered this event that was taking place in Turku that our teachers had told us about. “Materiaali sirkus” which surprisingly translates to material circus. We’d been told that there would be different kinds of machines and jewelry and other things that would be interesting to a “goldsmith-to-be”.

Well the event wasn’t exactly what I had imagined but cool none the less.

A lot of motorbikes, a fact which had been pointed out on the poster/brochure-thing but I just hadn’t noticed.

Didn’t see very much jewelry but the ones that I did notice were hidden in the back of the hall.

Function of the feathers?
The coolest part of the event were definitely the steampunk styled machines that reminded me of “The Time Machine”. The movie version because I haven’t gotten around to reading it (shame on me). Maybe I’ll get some inspiration to start designing steampunk jewelry after this?

Now I’m back in Sastamala again and winter is finally here!

Sorry to say I’ve broken my hand this week.

Bet it’s a repetitive strain injury from filing down the ring I’m working on in school. Now I can’t put any pressure on my hand since it hurts even to write on the computer. I think this happened because I was trying to file as fast as possible to get ahead and now I’m going to fall more behind again.

Also have a green finger which the school nurse told me to just keep clean and use antiseptic on but I'm a bit sceptic since I don't understand how the antiseptic is supposed to work since the green stuff is clearly deep under my skin and my skin is completely intact.

Am clearly turning into Frankensteins monster.

Or maybe rather the bride of Frankensteins monster.

Say hello to...

I thought it would be nice to show you how I live during school.

Slightly repeating myself in telling you that I am studying in Sastamala and my apartment is in Turku, almost a two hour car ride away. So I am living in the dormitory during weekdays.

Let's just say as an explanation for the following that being a grownup and living with 16-year-olds can be interesting and you do seem to become a teen yourself again.

This is my room. Well my side of the room.

I would like to point out the Crime and Punishment book on my bed which makes me feel proud of myself.

This at least is what my room looks like when it's cleaning day and it's checkup-time.

And this is how I am used to seeing my room since I am always doing something or looking for something. And you might notice the book is now on the floor because I am actually reading it and kind of broke it into three parts while reading it.

Hilkka, nameless, Trump, Mars attacks!

Above are my "pets".

The first red and green jungle is called "Hilkka" since my boyfriend wanted to name it after his great grandmother. Hilkka is about a week old and a perfect roomy since she doesn't make any sounds or try to annoy me.

Next to Hilkka is my nameless little baby who is about five years old and about the size of my thumb.

On the next row on the left is the baby money tree which my boyfriend so tenderly named "Trump". I am not going to explain Trumps name choice.

Last but not least is "Mars attacks!". If you've watched Mars attacks you should understand and if you haven't shame on you.

Almost forgot about Walter. Walter is a powerbank and usually helps me get through the schoolday while I either watch youtube clips or listen to audiobooks.

Walter also keeps saving me the rare times I do go out to party and need a ride home afterwards after having used up my entire battery taking embarrassing pictures that can never be shown to anyone or listening to bad music while walking from one place to another or googling things that you thought you'd never google.

Until next time!

IT class again

I made some things on Rhino again.

Still trying to learn how to use the program so I can't really make my own designs on this program but I'm trying to figure it out.

Also I can't afford the program on my own computer right now so my only chance is IT-class and I'm just trying to keep up with the teacher right now.
